an Independent Producer
Any member
in good standing with Community Media Access Partnership who
is producing a show to air on one of our channels may seek
support from local businesses in the form of underwriting.
Membership in CMAP is open to any resident of Gilroy, Hollister,
or San Juan Bautista. CMAP provides equipment and production
facilities to local residents to produce programming about
issues or topics of their choice.
Community
volunteers / independent producers are not agents or employees
of CMAP, and the programs they create do not necessarily represent
the views of the CMAP Board of Directors, management, staff
or funding jurisdictions. The community volunteer / independent
producers are solely responsible for the content of the program
they produce.
While
CMAP can provide most of the technical support for independent
producers, they may need additional support from local business
in order help to enhance their productions. We encourage local
businesses to support community producers. Businesses providing
in-kind support will be acknowledged in the closing credits
of the program as per the policies in our Access Handbook.
Be advised that your contribution to an independent producer
is not a donation to Community Media Access Partnership, but
rather support for an independent producer's individual project.
As such, these contributions do not qualify as a tax-deductible
donation.
