| PRODUCER'S
SEMINAR |

This
two to three hour informative lecture covering pre-production
planning, scriptwriting, storyboarding, budgeting
requirements, shooting locations, equipment needs,
cast and crew requirements, working with volunteers,
and underwriting tips. Even if you are a seasoned
producer, it is important that you take this workshop,
as we cover CMAP specific paperwork needed to get
your show on the road to an airdate. This workshop
is generally offered once a month on a weeknight.

This
fifteen-hour course covers the basics of TV Studio
equipment. Attendees will learn how to operate studio
camera, floor direct, run the audio board, live
call-in phone line, teleprompter, character generator,
video switcher, and directing terminology and techniques.
This workshop is offered once a month, generally four
3–hour sessions on Monday nights and a Saturday lab.

This
six-hour course covers the Canon GL1 and XL1s mini-DV
cameras, basic shooting skills, camera safety, sound
recording, and lighting. This workshop is generally
offered twice a month, either all day on a Saturday,
or two weeknights.

iMOVIE DIGITAL EDITING |

This
three-hour introduction to non-linear editing is for
the novice or intermediate editor and covers basic
editing techniques in the iMovie software program.
This workshop teaches the basic and the advanced tools
available in the iMovie program. In this class you
will learn how to capture, trim, create a storyboard,
tweak your audio, create titles, and export to a DVD
all in one night. With these skills you have no excuse
not to finish that project! This workshop is generally
offered once a month on a weeknight.

CUT PRO |

This
is a three-part (9 hr) survey of the newest version
of Final Cut Pro (4). The Course will cover FCP in
a multi-user environment,
media file management, basic and advanced editing
techniques, effects and transitions, output, and broadcast
standards.
NOTE: This is an advanced workshop with a prerequisite
of Screenplay certification. If you have prior non-linear
editing experience, may take a general digital editing
test to bypass the Screenplay workshop.

two-hour course introduces ZAK, a studio control room
in a portable suitcase. This is an advanced workshop
with a prerequisite of both Studio Production
and Field Production. Certification in this workshop
will allow members to shoot multi-camera events in the
field, studio style. This workshop 3 hour workshop
is generally offered once a month on a weeknight. |
