Channel 18: Gav-TV

18 - An educational channel where school programs and
classes are aired, as well as relevant, post-secondary
educational programming.

Gavilan
Community College
Gavilan Community College has a channel, 18, as part
of the PEG/G (Public, Education, Government, & Gavilan)
access television station serving the cities of Gilroy, Hollister,
and San Juan Bautista. GAV-TV is the name selected for channel
18, and the people enlisted as crew provide content for channel
18. Gavilan College representatives curate and select the
content of the channel. The television station, CMAP (Community
Media Access Partnership), manages the channel as well as
the other PEG channels,
as part of several responsibilities mandated in the cable
franchise agreement.
GAV-TV
Programs, telecourses, and other programming submitted to
and approved by the GAV-TV committee will air on channel 18.
**All programming for GAV-TV must be submitted to the GAV-TV
committee for approval before it can air on Channel 18.**

Gavilan employees can sign up as Ed Users to create content
for GAV-TV using CMAP equipment.
All CMAP Fast Track workshops are available for free to Educational
Users! Instructors can sign up as ED USERS, and train their
students on CMAP equipment to create a project for the channel.
*Students must be accompanied by an instructor to utilize
CMAP as Ed Users, or they must sign up as public access members.
